Time Benders

10/16/2015

We used to bend time together.
Watch minutes go backwards
and seconds disappear
into thin air
as we lent ears
to each other's high rises and flat lows--
Life Stories.
Treetops above us,
grass under toe,
standing below
building stories on city blocks.

Laughter filled vacuums
of time erased;
and smiles took the place of
whatever else donned our face
before we met
and spent the day together;
beating the train schedule,
racing the sunset --
in parks and gardens
on promenade boardwalks.
Have to go to work today,
but not before we play...
with time.

Make it dance to

our rhythm and rhyme.
Bend backwards like acrobats
of the Big Apple CIRCle US
Like pi d.
No beginning or end,
Just two friends - together
Making Time bend.

Sun Kissed

9/8/2015

Rays penetrate my pineal like a challis-bound phallus
birthing new life into existence.
Shrouded in darkness and mystery, perfection
is created.
To kiss is to initiate.
Who said kisses don't lead to contracts?
The sun has agreed to shine on me,
activating melatonin skills and
melanin avail abilities.
I concur with the sun to sweat me.
Release toxins from body in beads of solar salt perspiration;
anticipating inspiration;
I perform best when I am hot --
in o zone,
fully layered.

Can you see where the sun has loved me?

Inhale the heat.
Taste the vapor.
Breathe the darkness.
Touch the depth.
Come next to me, eclipse me.

See the simplicity of my solar complexity;
solar plexus radiating from my center--
Universal Core.
Encore! for what's in store, is stored;
helical DNA structures --
Kundalini coiled,
orbited by the plans that have been set by Ra.

Muuuaaahhhh!

There is nothing grander, more illustrious or fun
than to be 144,000 times kissed by the sun.

Cancer

Shell on my back

Claws poised to attack

if necessary,

but I prefer to retreat -

angled into a hole.

Whole souled visionary – eyes on top;

wouldn’t swap this body for any of God’s other creations.

I embrace my limitations.

Power is in balance – Maat;

and weakness or rather meekness

evens out the strengths, all I got

was given, God- driven; divine

A light in this dark Kali-yuga time.

Spinning in the middle of

Dodecahedrons,

my inner clock sounds an outer alarm -

Swarm!

Like manuka honey bees

around the most forbidden tree.

Find the kundalini sitting on a branch – awake.

Time to put it to sleep 'cause its getting kind of late

to remain in this state -

Coiled, spoiled, foiled and

boiled;

scrambled, poached, over too easy,

hard-fried greasy

like chicken on a hot southern day

in May.

Mayday, mayday;

the black family is crashing,

smashing

into societies depiction on de picture screen

I mean T.V. -

Terror and violence;

Titillation and vanity;

Toxicity and venom;

Terrorism and viscosity;

And we pay for this?  Cable…

Cain and Abel –

Making unsturdy what was once stable.

Turning fact into fiction, fantasy and fable,

taking black royalty and giving them white labels

like: Housewives, Hoes and Video Vixens -

Might as well call them donna, dancer, and blitzen.

Magical brown deer

that only exist

because a jolly white man ejaculated Christ

and didn’t miss.

Sitting North with his pole

Instructing brown dears to use their gifts

While he convinces us all

that it’s rain dear, not piss;

Bliss!

We take our golden showers.

Blinded!

We let them take what’s ours.

Misinformed!

We support their wars.

Foolish!

We follow celebrities

Instead of cosmic stars.

Imagine

Imagine if we could turn back the hands of time

But keep what we now know in our mind

If we could use our power and our strength

To build each other, go to mighty lengths

Of educating ourselves and our people too

Produce young soldiers to place on the battle field of truth

To love and to cherish; to have and to hold

Instead of chasing after mass materialistic fool’s gold.

Imagine if we understood the true meaning of support

Through each trial and triumph and didn’t cut short

The balance we were bound to achieve if we only knew

How to love unconditionally and give each other our due

Without trying to control and needing to condemn

Without punishing each other for each other’s sins

Without dragging the baggage of others in

Without trying to move forward while focusing on where we’d been.

Imagine the life we’d have now and the goals we would have achieved

If we stood by each other and only believed

That there was more to it than just what we gave

That we could conquer much more if our love had been brave.

We could have moved the mountains that we instead chose to climb

Could have provided the sight instead of ourselves being blind

Could have uplifted and empowered the spiritually poor

But instead we imagined that elsewhere was more.

The Who I'm Not

6/21/2013

I’m not the prettiest girl in the world, but
I’m far from the ugliest.
I’m not the smartest girl in the world, but
I’m far from the dumbest.

I’m not the wealthiest girl in the world, but
I’m far from the poorest.
I’m not the nicest person, but
I am far from the meanest.

I may not have the best ideas, but
a good one comes around every now and then.
I’m not the best cook in the world, but
I’m not the worst either.

I drive a little reckless, but
we still get to where we’re going.
I don’t have the best job,
but I go to work every day.

I don’t wear a whole lot of jewelry,
but I still shine if you catch me in the right light.
I might not have the softest skin,
but it’ll melt under your touch.

I might not be the best communicator,
but I have feelings.
I might have a drinking problem,
but I got it honest.

I may say the wrong thing
at the wrong time
a lot of the time
and
I may do the not right thing
at the not right time
some of the time, but
I mean well all of the time
And your best interest is always on my mind
ALL of the time.

I may not be the best singer, but
I have heard worse.

I may not be the best dancer,
but I can keep a beat.

I may have mood swings, but
I’m happy a lot too.

My hearing’s not that great, but
I hold on to your every word.

My sight is not all that, but
I go to sleep just to see your face in the morning.

I’m not what you’d call a prissy girl, but
I’m clean.

I may not have a lot of friends, but
I help a lot of people.

I may not be the best writer, but
It’s how I stay sane.

Oh, that reminds me -

I might not be the sanest girl, but
I damn sure ain’t the craziest.

I don’t have the biggest breast,
or the smallest waist,
or the roundest ass,
or the longest legs,
who am I kidding??? they’re not even shaved…
and sometimes my breath smells,
and yes, I do pass gas.

I don’t have the prettiest feet,
or the whitest teeth,
or the clearest skin,
or long finger nails,
and I have childhood scars from climbing trees.

My knees are black,
Elbows sometimes ashy,
Lips chapped on a cold day,
I’ve never claimed to be perfect
although it eats me up inside every day that i’m not…

I mean -

I’m not the most perfect girl in the world, but
I’m trying

I mean -
but, i’m far from the least…

Maybe not that far,
I mean – hmmm.

I may have some issues, but
who am I kidding??? we all do.

And I show up with baggage, but
who doesn’t??? only a few.

So, there it is
In black and white,
The not I’m who, but
Though I may not have the biggest heart,
It found lots of room to love you.

Baby Let Me Juice For You - poem

4/11/2013

Baby let me juice for you…

Stick my fingers all the way in and peel
Let the liquid run down my skin, sticky arm
Drop it in
and push
until all of the essentials have been squeezed out-

Baby, let me juice for you…
Mix concoctions of nature’s finest
ripe and sweet
firm and round
bitter and beautiful

Baby, let me juice for you…
Peach pineapple lemon ginger
Apple spinach orange lime
Tomato onion cucumber kale

Baby- let me juice for you.
Silky strawberries with grape goodness
Perfect plum and watermelon wishes
Rasp, blue, beet cherry berry and
banana blissness
Pour it to the brim and
take a whiff of this
Divinity at my fingertips

Get your lips wet

Pure honesty and sweet love in a cup
Connect with your DNA to produce
Oxidation and stimulation
Circulation through God’s libation
Tickle your tongue, tingling sensation
Smooth on the go down is my estimation

Baby, let me juice for you.
All the vitamins that you need
Never a deficiency
Fill you up with so much green
Leave out the pulp, suck on the seed
Just the right consistency
Keep you hydrated healthily;
And while I juice for you, I hope
You’ll juice for me-
Perfection running down your throat
Trust me, will bring you ecstasy!

Your Health - poem

4/11/2013

From brushing your teeth
to combing your hair
From whom you choose to sleep with
to cleaning your ears
What you put in your body temple
and how often it comes out
You are in charge of your health
that is without a doubt.

Halle Berry had diabetes
and she took sugar out of her diet
So she wouldn’t be a slave to the insulin
you should try it.
To keep your blood pressure down
and your cholesterol too
Limit milk and cheese
choose to bake it, not fry it.

And drugs, drugs – don’t fill your lungs with smoke
meth, mollies, crack, alcohol and coke
With those toxins in your body
it’ll be hard to get ahead
Look at Whitney, living proof
drugs will turn a diva dead.

You want to keep your heart rate up
and your body weight down
Exercise, don’t be lazy
just laying around
Playing video games
and watching TV
Living a sedentary lifestyle
will lead to a life of dis-ease.

And you don’t have to pop pills
for every little pain
There are natural herbs and remedies
that grow for our gain.
Doctor’s visits and hospital bills
it truly is a system that actually kills
More people each year
than it actually saves
Only you can keep you
from going to the grave.

So take yourself seriously
mind and body health
Because a strong, solid temple
is your only true wealth!

A Single Leaf - poem

4/11/2013

I am a single leaf
blowing in the wind
detached from the anchor
which was once my whole

I am on my own
with no one
no where to rest
trying to dance on my way to the
next destination

But twisting and turning
being thrown and thrashed around
not knowing
where I’m going and all the time
forgetting where i’ve come from

Trying to remember
my roots, the attachment
I once had
but knowing it can never
be that way again

I used to sway in the wind
confident in the strength of my
branch, my bough
I flit and flutter now
seeking a place of rest, a landing
safe, secure, sound
